Senem Diyici
Born in Istanbul, Senem Diyici moved to France in 1982 after a career in Turkey where she had reputation in the traditional and classical Turkish music. In 1987 she met the guitarist and composer Alain Blessing and this first collaboration would bring out the album “Takalar” recorded with some other musicians including the famous percussionist Okay Temiz. Since 80’s she recorded 7 albums with various bands all honoured by professional critics. She sang in more than 1000 concerts all around the world.
She also involved in coordinating education for many years. Senem instructed in many workshops on breathing and vocal techniques. She gave courses to many teachers and students in several High Music School and institutions in France and Turkey (Paris, Uzes, Chalon-sur-Saône, Poitiers, Strasbourg, Istanbul, Kaz Dağları, etc….). Her pedagogical approach emphasizes relaxation and connection of breath and rhythm in vocal practice.
In the late 2000’s, Senem finally began painting on glass using a special method. Her work was exhibited in Paris, Cherbourg, Chalon-sur-Saône, Dijon and St Boil. She’ll hold exhibition in Paris during the next Unesco agreement.
She also propose to her students a work on voice, breath and colours.
