Tolga Ünaldı
Tolga ÜNALDI (NeY-ZeNtt) was born in 1975 , Ankara/Turkey. He has Graduated from Ankara State Conservatoire, Musicology Department, Etnomusicology and Folk Sciences in 1999. Now he is working as a research assistant at Yildiz Technical Uni. Art and Design Faculty with the thesis titled “The Religious Music of the Syriacs Living in Mardin and Midyat” . During his university education his interest on traditional music led him towards musical performance and experimental works. Tolga Ünaldı has worked as a research assistant at Yildiz Technical University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Music and Performing Arts, Audio Design Division.
He participated in many different concerts, jam-sessions, dance performances (as a modern dance accompanist) and workshops while practising the musical instruments Ney (reed flut), Didgeridoo and percussion. His main instruments are Ney and Didgeridoo; beside these instruments he also plays cajon, bendir, asma davul (Turkish Drum), fujara, kaval, sipsi, bansuri, finland flute, san kopuz (jew’s harp) and provides vocal sounds. He played with Okay Temiz, Mercan Dede, Erkan Ogur, Göksel Baktagir and Dj. Can Hatipoglu.
